The milwaukee, Wisconsin planning commission recently approved rezoning for a project several believe are the tallest mass timber structure within the U.S., although the project should still be approved by a region segmentation committee. known as the Ascent residential tower, the mixed-use structure would use cast-in concrete for the primary 5 stories and concrete shafts from high to bottom, and would be lidded by a 15-story exposed mass timber system that uses steel connectors. The building can embody 205 residential units, and floors dedicated to business house, fogbound parking and amenities.
